As i was having some quiet time to myself...i thought, perhaps i should blog about something...and the title is...as i briefly recall..so, i am gonna blog about this something which i briefly recall...

Many a times, when we are having some quiet time to ourselves, some past event just pop into your mind...and this past event tells me that its something worth remembering, worth mentioning...so that one day, when i am in that state again, i can once again look at this blog post of mine, and be reminded...

Anyway, it was one of those days when i had this conversation with this person I respected quite a lot, also known as the fortune teller...she knows that I was bearing some grudges, over this person, who did something which I thought was really unethical...I didnt really say that I am unhappy with him, but I guess, from the way I react whenever I talk about him, it was obvious that I am always being rather skeptical and defensive...Fortune teller, being a fortune teller, then see this in me...so she said...girl, why are u always thinking of something that happened in the past? Yes, he did this and that wasnt right of him, but hey, move on! In the first place, he wasnt someone that important in your life, so...why would you bother?

Actually this was posted to me many times...and out of the many times, i always mmm refused to admit me being defensive and stuff...and yes, many times, i thought to myself, why bother? Cos he isnt someone that is close to my heart?

Anyway...this fortune teller then tell me a story of what happened some time back in her own life...to try tell me that i should learn the art of letting go...and letting people take advantage of me....

Some yrs back, she went on an overseas trip to this not very well to do countries with a couple of friends...and like what most singaporeans do, we bargain...and so did she...at that time, she was trying to bargain with this stall owner...over some stuff...cos she felt that the person definitely over charged her...as in, for the same item, it would have cost like 1,2 dollars cheaper elsewhere...so therefore, she bargained with all her might, trying to win in this bargaining war...then her friend said...why? Why are u bargaining so hard...just let her win..

N She was like, no no! she overcharge me!

At that point in time, her friend said...hey, this 2 dollars may be insignificant to u...but it may mean hell lot to them! N you are letting them win, not because u are weak, u admit defeat...in the contrary, u let them win, because u have the buffer to be taken advantage of...as in, the ability to do so...so, why harp on that 2 dollars so hard...let them win...

N upon hearing this, she felt that, yes, that friend was right....and hearing this made her feel that it was like a lesson learnt...many times in our life, we always feel unhappy, cheated or unfair, when we are being taken advantage of...but...looking from the other angle, we can b taken advantage of...cos we have so much more to share..which is not something that everyone else possess...and so, why not let others take advantage in some situation(of cos that shouldnt be some atrocious stuff la) and then...u make them happy too? Which i guess equates to learning to let go....and not harp on something bad that someone has done to you million yrs ago?

At the same time...we were sharing some incident that happened...and i told her that yes, this did happen to me...like, there were times when i know that i am being taken advantage of..but still, i let the person do that to me, cos i felt that well, its not something that impacts my life...so, just let him be...and she said something that i very much agree....i.e. we dont have to treat people bad cos they treat us bad....i guess its true...but of cos...to me, if the person is bad to me..i wont revenge...but i wont b super nice to him or her...and my principle says...unless u are being taken advantage of badly...or badly treated..if possible...try to ren...if not...just quietly leave these people...

ya...and i thought i blog about this, cos its something i ought to rem...and then, when such situation comes by, i would know how to appropriately react to it...ok...that's all...
